About the event

We're back with a new location and another awesome lineup of speakers.

Thank you to Collab (https://www.collab-orators.com) for hosting us at their incredible space and for being a longtime friend of the hardware community.

Shout out to Rush Order for sponsoring this month's meetup. Rush Order (https://rushorder.com) provides global warehousing, multi-channel order fulfillment, and in house customer support for hardware startups to large enterprises. They have a warehouse just north of the city!

Here's the agenda for the evening:

6:00 - 6:35pm: Arrival, food, mingling

6:35 - 6:45pm: Welcome & notes

6:45 - 7:10 pm: Christine Schindler, Co-Founder & CEO of PathSpot (http://pathspottech.com/). PathSpot is a system that protects food service companies and their customers from the threat of foodborne illness. The PathSpot device scans employee hands to identify the presence of harmful contamination, all in less than 2 seconds.

7:10 - 7:35 pm: Jonas Guenther, Co-Founder of We Are The New Farmers (https://www.new-farmers.com/). We Are the New Farmers is a 21st century urban farm, using technology to sustainably grow one of the most nutrient-dense foods on Earth–Spirulina–right here in New York City.

7:35 - 8:00 pm: Ashley Carmen, Senior Reporter at The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/). Ashley covers independent hardware companies, Instagram, the podcasting business, dating apps, and whatever else strikes her fancy. She's the host of the podcast Why'd You Push That Button?, a show about the decisions we're forced to make with technology, and the video series In The Making about the challenges independent hardware creators face.
